Lent is one of my favorite seasons of the church year because it is so different from the world around us. In Lent we purposefully and with intent embrace self-denial. We take time to dwell in the wilderness with Jesus and to examine our own hearts and minds and the ways we are complicit in rejecting Jesus like Peter does on Good Friday. In Lent we take on devotional practices, go without that we might use our resources to help others, and gather to worship and learn in special ways.
To start the season, this week pick up your Lenten Devotionals at the Trinity building and then we will share in worship on Wednesday the 5th to remember Ash Wednesday
