Last week we had 20 children running around the sanctuary, child actors in the basement, older people improving their balance, several groups supporting each other as they deal with addictions of various kinds, dancers expressing their nordic heritage, a Vietnamese congregation gathering, landscape work being done outside, and support for elders aging in place occurring. The Trinity building is well used. First responders stop by to use the restroom and get a cup of coffee. Toddlers learn how to walk in the basement. Military honors are practiced & planned and people receive counseling. Each year it takes us about $50,000 to just run our building.  This covers utilities, regular yard maintenance, insurance. custodial services, and  minor repairs. Our building users account for about $42,000 of this need.  Your gifts to the parish help pay the other $8,000 and for all the deferred maintenance issues and surprise problems, like bedbugs, that turn up throughout the course of a year. We are fortunate both to be able to share the Trinity building with so many in the community and for their help in stewarding this resource.  Building users attend work days, weeding and pruning with us.  They catch problems, like the aforementioned bed bugs, and help us quickly respond to urgent issues. While we know that this building is too big for our current congregation, this building is a gift from the faithful who came before and built something we are now privileged to share.  We will be investing in new furniture, room updates, and better storage for building users as we continue to be a place of community and connection.  If you are interested in joining in this work reach out to me or to anyone on the leadership team.
