This month we are focusing on joy. We are reading through 4 psalms as expressions of joy. In this election season, after working through the bible in a year and a summer book series on racial reconciliation it felt like it was a moment to reconnect to the joy of our faith.  For me this joy is found in community and in nature.  Just yesterday I decided to have a picnic by myself in Sellwood Park. After the last stressful few weeks,  I knew that I just needed some time looking up at the blue sky and the green trees. I could feel my heart slowing, my sadness lessening as I just sat and ate in the midst of a beautiful park. What natural places bring you joy?

Community joy comes in sharing life with others. Be it planning to travel with a church member to Savannah see Paige in February or running to get meds for a church member just diagnosed with COVID this is the rich stuff of life for me. Joy that we care together for one another.  How do you find joy in community?

What else brings you joy?

May we all find ways to celebrate joy this month-
