The much requested recliner for the rest stop!

We are now 4 months into the earnest work on our 5 year plan. Just walking around the Trinity building you can see and feel a difference. The memorial room, the fellowship area in the back of the sanctuary, and the rest stop have all been rearranged with more updates on the way.  My office is on the way to moving so that we can make the large middle office into a work room and offer the across the hall office as a rental space. Our goal is to have the conference room in the basement (formerly known as the nursery), the memorial room, the new office, the rest stop, and the fellowship area all ready by September 1st. We will be making the basement restrooms into single use spaces so that meetings in the conference room don’t need to be disturbed by other users in search of a women’s restroom. We are also welcoming a new preschool to the Trinity building this June and they will spruce up that space. They are switching to a year round format with this move and we are delighted to welcome them! We are hosting a work day this Saturday May 4th from 9am-12pm. We’ll have donuts and coffee, paint brushes, garden tools, dusters and more. Come help us get the building and grounds ready for summer as we continue this important building refresh.

The folks at SFC are thinking about next steps in that ministry and praying for discernment as we think about how dinner church has been impacted by the pandemic. We’ll be headed back outside for part of the summer and are thinking about switching back to dessert church. Creating a welcoming space for new folks has changed since Covid and being responsive to that as we think about how a new pastor will enter in to a house also being used for ministry is the work of this season.

The land committee will be meeting with Rev. Jules Nielsen, an area expert on churches working to build housing on their land on May 5th. She will be helping us learn more about the possibilities ahead for our land at the Trinity parking lot.

SPRC is working away on what we need in admin and pastoral roles. A new administrative assistant will be hired next spring, until then we are dividing tasks, getting clear on who is actually responsible for what in our community, and working together to streamline processes.

Our next leadership team meeting will be June 1st. We hope you can join us for updates, to share your ideas, and to help us follow God’s call for our community.
