This past week we had an amazing retreat where we played together, grieved together, and embraced hope together!
We are engaging in a process of:
1. Discovering our Why
2. Discerning our What
3. Developing our How
Our why we already know. Our parish statement is we believe everyone needs a safe space to be loved for who they are already. This is our why- it is why we exist as a parish.
Now we are discerning our what. Are we about children? Art? welcoming others? meeting needs?
What is God calling us to in THIS moment?
Then we will get to our how! For example if we are about art do we become an art gallery? A co working space for artists? on and on and on!
This weekend we did a lot of creative work around our what. One of the things that bubbled up was wanting to know our community and neighborhood.
So the next step is to listen, something we have done before. Our community has changed over the last several years so it’s time again to reach out and learn. We will have 2 listening training sessions on April 5th at 6pm and April 6th at 7pm. We will meet at the Trinity building and also have a zoom portion to those trainings. Hybrid for the win! Listening teams will choose businesses, nonprofits, or people to interview and report back their learnings. Even if this sounds a bit intimidating please come join a training. You don’t have to commit to a team until you have all the information!! We will be engaging both with folks in our parish and those outside of our gatherings in April and May and then coming back together to report our learnings in June.
The work ahead of us is hopeful and hard and shared! Thank you for being part of the journey,
-Eilidh
