Sometimes it seems like the whole point of Christianity is to tell people they are bad and sinners and unworthy of God’s love so they better repent or burn! Thanks to St. Augustine the western church really embraced this dichotomy between holy and unholy, sacred and secular. I think the eastern and celtic churches have something here for us to learn. What if we are worthy of God’s love? What if it’s okay to ask God for what we need? What if we are deserving of goodness and care? We can’t earn God’s love so what if we just accept it and have it mold us joyfully into people of light? This week as we continue our series on life giving theology we explore the ways that we can claim God’s love and live into our worth!
